I got my DWTS Issue #1 Comic today! W00t!! They both feature yours truly as the character Danielle of course. Quite surreal having a comic book character based on your own appearance! Yay!
Anyway, if you’re interested in more info you can go to www.deathwalksthestreets.com/ and if you’d like to purchase a comic of your own (Issue #1 has a lovely Fangoria seal on it to commemorate 30 years of Fango!) you can buy yours here: www.merchdirect.com/deathwalksthestreets
I’m not one of those people that fiend over ‘doomsday’ theories and the supposed forthcoming apocalypse. Okay, that’s probably a lie. Okay, who am I kidding?? It’s definitely a lie…
The genre-bending tale that combines action, horror, and crime drama comes to FANGORIA in a brand-new four issue mini-series from FANGORIA GRAPHIX. Check out the new trailer for the series (featuring music by FASHION BOMB).
Written by Fango’s own James Zahn along with Ben Brezinski, DEATH WALKS THE STREETS is a genre-bending tale of good and evil that combines horror, action, and crime drama set in the fictional City of New Marshall.
MICHAEL LABOU. DANIELLE DANTE, and MALCOLM MCDERMOT are three friends in an unconventional line of work. Officially, they work in separate positions for IBVM Union Local 666, one of the most powerful labor Unions in New Marshall and the world. Unofficially, the trio has become the go-to crew for odd-jobs required by “The Organization”, an international crime syndicate with deep ties to the City of New Marshall. They’re good people that are good at their jobs, but can’t stand the people that they’re working for. Unfortunately, sometimes an “out” isn’t exactly easy.
The supernatural world is commonplace in New Marshall, but often the legions of vampires, demons, zombies, werewolves, and other ghastly creatures are hardly a concern - nor their greatest foes. Everyone is on “the take”, and few can be trusted. The ties that bind loyalty are tested on a daily basis, and sometimes people just simply disappear. For some, Death would be too easy.
The initial 4-issue series is a prequel set three years before the events of a feature film currently in re-development. While issue #0 saw a limited release via The Scream Factory last summer, it will be re-issued along with the next installment in March.
The Narrows’ third studio album, ‘I want to grow up and be a critic’ has had, coincidentally, critics raving. The lineup includes guest vocals by Mike Patton, Josh Homme, Jack Black, Brody Dalle, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Peter Murphy and Andrea Boccelli. This is an illustriously decadent album and fans will be delighted. It’s a great example of what good, solid art-punk-rock should be like. The Narrows fill today’s ripe-and-ready gap for Andy Warhol endorsed bands of the past… Could this be the new Velvet Underground? We’ll let you be the judge. The record hits stores on September 9th this year (yes, lead vocalist Efisia Fele let us in on a little secret; the 09/09/09 date was perfectly deliberate, and if you listen to track 9 you will know why) and will be available for download from the usual outlets.
2. Go to “Random quotations” or click: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3. Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” or click: http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days. Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. Don’t forget to link back to the image you used and credit the photographer!
4. Add the title and band name to the image (don’t change/photoshop the image itself), copy the instructions and post it on your blog, and tag some friends to do the same!
Efisia loves horror films, ancient Greek theatre, online multimedia and music. She also loves cooking, reading, karaoke and spending time with her friends but not as much as she loves her demon-cat Mephistofoles. She co-presents a somewhat shambolic, entertaining, vulgar [and explicit] podcast with her long-time friend, Will; she occasionally models and has been cast in an American cross-genre creature-feature, Death Walks The Streets. Her likeness has been used in the comic of the same title, as the character 'Danielle'.
